The Chamber Music Society presents concerts in a number of venues in the Lincoln Center area.

Alice Tully Hall

Alice Tully Hall is currently closed for renovation. It will reopen in February 2009 in a series of celebratory events. When it is reopened, its seating configuration will closely resemble the original layout. CMS will use a three-tiered price breakdown.

The Concert Hall at the New York Society for Ethical Culture

  • 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West
  • Seats approximately 813 in orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony seats. Click here for a hall map.

The Concert Hall at the New York Society for Ethical Culture will serve as the temporary home of CMS during the 2007-08 concert year. It is close to home and an excellent venue in which to enjoy chamber music. Recently refurbished, it is a favorite venue of musicians because of its excellent acoustics.

Daniel and Joanna S. Rose Studio

  • Rose Building, 165 West 65th Street, 10th Floor. Entrance to the Rose Building from street-level escaltor near the northeast corner of 65th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
  • Seats 100

The Rose Studio is one of New York’s most intimate listening spaces. Seating just 100 people, it is home to the Rose Studio Concerts, New Music in the Rose concerts, and lectures, as well as CMS’ Student Producers concerts.

Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center

  • 129 West 67th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam
  • Seats 455 in orchestra and balcony seats

Just off the campus of Lincoln Center is Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center. While not technically a part of the campus, Merkin is the home of Meet the Music!, CMS’ family series. Its small size lets every child have an up close and personal experience at concerts.

Rose Theater, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center

  • Broadway at 60th Street
  • Seats up to 1,233 in multiple levels

The Rose Theater (to be clear, NOT the Rose Studio) is in the magnificent Jazz at Lincoln Center facility in the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle. During the 2007-08 season, CMS will perform its Opening Night and Brandenburg Concertos programs in this sparkling facility.

Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse

  • Rose Building, 165 West 65th Street, 10th Floor. Entrance to the Rose Building from street-level escaltor near the northeast corner of 65th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

The Kaplan Penthouse is home to a variety of events; during the 2007-08 season, it will host CMS’ Family Special event on November 18, 2007.
