Arnaud Sussmann, violin

Winner of a 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, violinist Arnaud Sussmann is establishing a reputation as a multi-faceted and compelling artist, earning praise from critics and audiences alike. He has performed as a soloist throughout the United States, Central America, Europe, and Asia at such venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Smithsonian Museum, and the Louvre Museum. He has recently appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the American Symphony Orchestra, the Nice Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and has presented recitals in New York, Memphis, Chicago, San Salvador, London, Paris, and St. Petersburg. He is winner of several International Competitions, including the Hudson Valley Philharmonic String Competition, the Andrea Postacchini Competition and the Vatelot/Rampal Competition.

Upcoming engagements include concerto and recital appearances in Montreal, New York, Vancouver, and Lexington, KY and chamber music performances in Boston, Dallas, and San Diego. He has recently recorded works of Beethoven and Dvorak with CMS artistic directors David Finckel and Wu Han, and Schubert's Trout Quintet with Menahem Pressler and Gary Hoffman. He will record his first solo CD in October 2009, featuring music by Czech composers Dvovak, Suk, and Janacek.

Mr. Sussmann holds bachelor's and master's degrees from The Juilliard School, studying with Itzhak Perlman who chose him to be a Starling Fellow.
