Jennifer Montone, horn

Hornist Jennifer Montone holds a permanent chair with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and, in New York City, plays regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, including a tour with this group in 1999. A graduate of The Juilliard School where she studied with Julie Landsman, Ms. Montone was a featured soloist in both the 1999 International Horn Society Workshop in Athens, Georgia, and the 2000 International Women’s Brass Conference in Cincinnati. In 1996 she was named the Paxman Young Horn Player of the year in London and in March 1998 won the Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia Young Artists Competition. She has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra; Bargemusic, Ltd.; Bay Chamber Concerts; and the Melons Ensemble. A native of Northern Virginia, Ms. Montone has appeared with the Marlboro Music Festival and, in 1996 and 1997, was a fellow in the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra.
