A defining feature of the Chamber Music Society is its distinguished assembly of artists that constitute the repertory company. These accomplished artists range from the world’s most important chamber music players to the brightest stars emerging from today’s conservatories. This regularly evolving roster represents the epitome of the repertory idea – safeguarding the traditions while passing them on to future generations of chamber music players and lovers. The artists are colleagues on stage and friends off—their chemistry makes for consistently absorbing and extraordinary performances.
The future of chamber music performance is in the hands the world’s most gifted young musicians. The Chamber Music Society Two program, now in its eleventh year, discovers and weaves into the CMS fabric this exciting generation of players – individuals and ensembles – who embody the great performance traditions of the past while setting new standards for tomorrow. In residence as Artists of the Society for three-year terms, these performers return often to our stages while forging stellar careers in chamber music worldwide.
