Franz Schubert died at the young age of 31. His musical output for such a short life span was unparalleled, and several of his most beloved works come from his final years.
Schubert Ascending explores this epic composer’s incredible musical outpouring during his last year of life. Series curator and featured pianist, Inon Barnatan, along with several of his musical colleagues (all close in age to that of the composer when he passed away) perform the masterworks of his final year in this three-concert series.
