The irresistible power of Hungarian folk music unites the works on this unique program for a celebration of unfettered musical energy. From Brahms's classical interpretation of Gypsy dances to Bartok's vivid renderings of music he collected in the countryside, this concert rekindles the spirit of a vibrant world now virtually extinct. The extraordinarily versatile clarinetist David Krakauer joins the Orion String Quartet to introduce American composer David Del Tredici's vivid tribute to the Gypsy culture.
* Join composers David Del Tredici and Bruce Adolphe in a special pre-concert Composer Chat at 4 PM in the Daniel and Joanna S. Rose Studio. This event is free for all ticket holders.
* Brahms' Hungarian Dances for Piano, Four Hands hints at the treats in store for listeners at a concert later in the season. Pianos/Pianists on Friday, November 20 and Sunday, November 22 features an entire program of music for four hands at one, or two, pianos.
