Jupiter String Quartet, ensemble
CMS Two member the Jupiter String Quartet has quickly made its ascent into the heights of contemporary ensembles. A particularly familial group (the members are violinists Nelson Lee and Megan Freivogel; violist Liz Freivogel -- older sister of Meg; and cellist Daniel McDonough -- husband of Meg, brother-in-law of Liz) the ensemble has quickly parlayed its closeness into national and international awards and growing prestige. Its program features a quartet from the father of the genre as well as new work from Dan Visconti, as well as one of the genre's "evergreens," Dvorak's "American" Quartet.
