Live Audition Round

If you are invited to audition live at CMS you must be available to be here on May 13, 14, & 15. These are the repertoire requirements:

  • All applicants must prepare a program of at least 30 minutes in duration including two or more works in contrasting styles. Please prepare all movements of multi-movement works. Do not prepare concertos or bravura pieces. You are responsible for bringing your own assisting musicians. We will let you know who the other applicants are if you wish to make arrangements to assist each other.
  • For vocalists and instrumentalists other than pianists the program should consist of standard chamber music repertoire involving personnel of your choice. This may include sonatas for just your instrument and piano. We encourage you to include at least one work for more than two instruments (trio, quartet, etc.).
  • For pianists the program should consist of sonata repertoire featuring piano and one other instrument, either string or wind.

After the first round of auditions on May 13 & 14, finalists will be asked to return on May 15. You will need to have prepared the work or works listed under your instrument. You will be asked to perform selections from these with our own artists.
