The Young Ensembles Program offers talented middle-school/junior high school chamber ensembles an opportunity to come to Lincoln Center to be coached by renowned musicians. Four ensembles will receive two, one-hour coachings with Chamber Music Society artists in preparation for a performance before an audience of their peers, friends, parents and teachers in the elegant Daniel and Joanna S. Rose Studio at Lincoln Center. Interested ensembles must submit an application and audition tape.
For over twenty years, the Young Musicians Program has provided young chamber musicians an opportunity to work with renowned musicians and master teachers, in preparation for a professional performance experience that is unique to the program. Participating ensembles receive three coachings with a Chamber Music Society artist and perform at Lincoln Center. Interested ensembles must submit an application and audition tape.
Attending a real, working rehearsal gives students the chance to observe how professional musicians work with each other as they prepare for a concert. A lively and informative 30-minute discussion, led by a member of the Chamber Music Society’s staff, precedes the rehearsal. This unique experience held in CMS’ intimate Rose Studio, also includes the opportunity to ask questions and to interact informally with the artists.
Limit: 80 students per session
Fee: $3 per person.
