A Special Offer from the Marlboro Music Festival

Did you know that there are wonderful ties between CMS and the remarkable Marlboro Music Festival where Richard Goode and Mitsuko Uchida are Artistic Directors? Many of our CMS artists, including David Finckel and Wu Han, got their start during summers in Vermont at the Marlboro Music Festival. Many met there and played together for the first time. There is a continued special bond of friendship between CMS Artists and Marlboro, demonstrated through their ongoing participation in festival performances, New York concerts, and tour concerts.

With a nod to this special relationship, we are pleased to announce that our friends at Marlboro are making a lovely offer to CMS patrons:

If you’ve never experienced the magical music-making at Vermont’s Marlboro Music Festival, here is your chance:

  • Enjoy (free of charge) open rehearsals in Persons Auditorium at Marlboro College – generally held from Wednesdays through Saturdays and Sunday mornings from mid-July through mid-August. The week’s rehearsal schedule is available each Monday, starting July 7, so just call 802-254-2394 after that date for what’s on and when.
  • Take a half-hour tour of the campus to learn how Marlboro functions and what makes it different from any other musical organization (for groups of six or more before or after a rehearsal visit or one hour before concerts).
  • Save on concert tickets (regularly $ 35, $ 30 and $ 25) at a 20% reduction – $ 28, $ 24 and $ 20 – for Saturdays July 12, 19 and 26 at 8:30 PM; Sundays, July 13, 20 and 27 at 2:30 PM; and Friday August 8 at 8:30 PM
