Madison, NJ is very special to Artistic Director David Finckel – it is his hometown, where he grew up in a musical household, and it is where he met his future colleagues in the Emerson Quartet. So one of his first ideas, upon taking the helm of CMS, was to bring CMS – his metaphorical home – to his hometown. An idea quickly took shape and an active partnership between Drew University in Madison and CMS was launched during the 2006-07 season.
And now, CMS and Drew are proud to announce the second season of concerts at the beautiful Concert Hall at Drew University. The concerts are straight from the New York stage, performed by the extraordinary artists of the Chamber Music Society.
