Thursday evening, January 10, Artists from CMS joined What Makes It Great’s Rob Kapilow in exploring Schoenberg’s lush and sensuous Verklarte Nacht on a special Live From Lincoln Center broadcast. Violinists Erin Keefe and Arnaud Sussmann, violists Teng Li and David Kim, and cellists David Finckel and Priscilla Lee ripped through the Schoenberg work following an engaging discussion by Kapilow.
Following the TV broadcast, the program continued in a web-only broadcast on PBS, in the first-ever transition from a TV to web broadcast. At that time, the CMS Artists gave a spirited and passionate performance of Brahms’ beloved String Sextet in G major, Op. 36.
