Alban Berg Quartet Gives Final New York Performance
CMS was honored and proud to present the esteemed Alban Berg Quartet in its final New York performance Wednesday night (2/27) at the New York Society for Ethical Culture. In a program that brought the sold-out audience to its feet, the Quartet presented signature works from its repertoire: quartets from Haydn and its namesake Alban Berg, and closing with Beethoven’s Op. 132 quartet in A minor.
And in a lovely and moving coda to a stellar program, the Quartet gave an encore—the Cavatina from Beethoven’s Op. 130 quartet in B-flat major.
