CMS Lectures and Master Classes give listeners invaluable insight into the world of chamber music. These educationally-based events are certainly among the most popular offerings of any CMS season, and their devotees are unanimous in their exclamations of praise for lecturers and artists alike.
Now, CMS makes these experiences available online through streaming videos posted weekly on the website. Visit the EdWeb section of the site every Monday to stream a fascinating first view of Master Artists in action through our Master Classes, or review a video for information you missed when hearing a lecture in person. A special feature of the videos is an indexing feature which identifies specific sections of each post. A viewer can watch a video in its entirety, or use the indexes to click on specific portions of the video. People browsing the web and reviewing websites are usually searching narrowly, and the quantity of information available makes it possible for browsers to hone in on extremely specific content. The indexing feature allows visitors to the website to view just the portion of the program in which they are most interested.
Ancillary materials are available for many of the postings, so when the lecturer refers to them, you have them too.
Highlights of future videos include Alex Ross’ Chamber Music Essentials lecture, entitled Modern Music: The Bold and the Beautiful; Menahem Pressler’s riveting Master Class; and Bruce Adolphe’s entire Inside Chamber Music series. Check EdWeb every Monday for a new video.
