The Student Producers Announce Second Annual Benefit Concert

Imagine a group of typical teenagers gathered in one place on a Friday evening. Imagine that there are no video games or ipods involved, no skateboards or basketballs or hackey sacks. Imagine that a download of “Gossip Girl” isn’t anywhere in sight. Imagine this group of kids sitting in a room, quietly, mesmerized by an ensemble of highly unusual vocalists, a DJ and a dreadlocked and very hip modern bohemian, or even… impossibly… a classical piano quartet!

What?! A piano quartet? Hard to imagine?

Not at the Chamber Music Society! Not when the Student Producers are putting on a concert. It happens four times a year when this highly original and ingenious group of teenagers produce a concert just for their peers. Operating under the auspices of CMS, the group, ten energetic and passionate high school students, learn concert production and, not incidentally, spread enthusiasm for chamber music to new audiences.

And now, the Student Producers, of whom the staff at CMS are so fond, invite you to attend their second annual benefit concert and gala event, offbeat, on Monday, May 19 at 7 PM in the Kaplan Penthouse. Join the group for this concert and dessert event, and learn exactly who the Student Producers are, and what they do that makes CMS so proud!
