Come to the intimate and beautifully appointed Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse on Thursday, August 21, to see the Jupiter String Quartet in the Mostly Mozart Festival’s late-night recital series, A Little Night Music.
In residence as Artists of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Jupiter String Quartet performs with “razor-edged ensemble work and imaginative depth beyond their years,” says The Washington Post.
Don’t miss this intrepid quartet’s performance of Schoenberg’s chamber-music masterpiece Verklärte Nacht with violist Teng Li and cellist Priscilla Lee, a continuation of the Festival’s exploration of the themes of loss and transformation, in a program that also includes British composer Thomas Adès’ string quartet Arcadiana.
“The Jupiter String Quartet gave force to Adès’s violent eclecticism,” The New York Times said in reviewing a performance of Arcadiana last year.
