It's Starting to Look Like a Building!

Excitement is building for… the building!

Every day, progress is being made on the renovation of Alice Tully Hall, The Juilliard School, and more, all in eager anticipation of the grand reopening in February, 2009.

If you haven’t been to the campus recently, come see a continuing evolution:

The scaffolds and construction walls are coming down around Juilliard, and the spectacular grand staircase in the building’s foyer is visible. Lettering identifying the various halls inside the Juilliard building is going up on the facade of the entrance, and while the sidewalk is still in transition and the glass walls are still taped, the spectacular building is easier than ever to envision.

  • Before too much longer, the new Alice Tully Hall facade is going to emerge from behind its construction curtain! The glass exterior walls have been in place for some time, giving the building its sparkling facade. Inside, the work continues… reportedly on schedule and on budget to meet the February deadline.

On the north campus, work continues on the extraordinary Promenade project, the refurbishment of the Josie Robertson Plaza, the public spaces in front of the Lincoln Center Theater, the revitalized Visitor’s Center, and more.

And the recent article in The New York Times confirmed what we all believe… in the end, the wonderful performances make everything worthwhile!
