  • The Chamber Music Society continues its Winter Festival: Beethoven Cycles with violinist Ani Kavafian and pianist Gilbert Kalish on Thursday, February 11 at 7:30pm in the Rose Studio. The program features four Sonatas for Violin and Piano. In a related event on Wednesday, February 10 at 11am in the Rose Studio, Ms. Kavafian and Mr. Kalish will lead a master class on the Beethoven Violin Sonatas.

  • The Chamber Music Society’s Winter Festival: Beethoven Cycles continues in February with the Complete String Quartet Cycle. The cycle will be performed over six concerts by six outstanding quartets beginning on February 5 and ending February 23.

  • The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s 2008-2009 Elise L. Stoeger Prize has been awarded to German composer Jörg Widmann. The Stoeger Prize is a $25,000 cash award, and the largest prize devoted to chamber music composition.
