CMS is delighted to establish a cross-Atlantic partnership with London’s distinguished Wigmore Hall, a leading international venue that holds a unique place in the city’s musical life, and also an essential platform for the world’s most sought-after soloists and chamber musicians. Marking CMS’s debut performances in England, CMS Artistic Directors cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han embark on this new venture joined by clarinetist David Shifrin, pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, violinists Ani Kavafian and Arnaud Sussmann, violist Paul Neubauer, and cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. Three diverse programs, presented on November 23, 26, and 27, feature classics from the repertoire, as well as more recent works, including Pierre Jalbert’s Trio for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano, commissioned by CMS and Wigmore Hall, with special thanks to CMS Patrons Linda and Stuart Nelson who provided a generous grant in honor of David Shifrin. This piece will receive its world premiere at Alice Tully Hall on November 20, just days before the Wigmore performance.
Following the London dates, CMS continues to expand its international presence in early December with concerts in Hamburg, Germany, and Aarhus, Denmark.
