Name: Bobby Alam
Age: 17
School: Long Island City High School

I was influenced by music before I was even born. I come from a very musical family. Basically, music is a huge part of my life. I play the guitar, keyboard, drums, and trumpet. I decided to join the SAC because I wanted to further expand my experiences in music. Plus, I hope to share my thoughts and ideas on music with other students who love music just as much as I do.

Name: Halleh Balch
Age: 16
School: The Bearly School

I've been playing violin since I was four when I chose it over cello because it was small, like me. No, seriously - that was the reason. Regardless of this, violin has always been a part of my life and as far as I can tell, it's going to continue to be. The point is, that for me, playing violin is not a hobby or passion but just a part of me. For this reason, writing this bio on myself 'as a musician' feels odd - because similar to most, if I enjoy what I play, I play it well - it's as simple as that. This committee is amazing, so I can only imagine how great this season is going to be.

Name: Gemma Baehr
Age: 17
School: Portledge School

I have loved music for my entire life. I began piano lessons when I was four years old and started the violin when I was seven and a half. Music has such potential to influence and excite our mood. I believe that more people my age would seek to listen to classical music if they were exposed to it. I love performing because it gives me the chance to say, with my violin, "Here: Listen to what this composer has to say. Isn't it amazing!"

Name: Alicia Ciccone

Music was never my passion, but as my kindergarten colleague performed her rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I was inspired, and forever changed. Almost 12 years later, violin has become my life, and my dream has been accomplished: to have a mini-bio linked to a sub-page of an organization part of this amazing arts center named Lincoln Center.

Age: 18
School: Horace Mann School

I have been playing violin since I was in 3rd grade. I love playing in my high school orchestra and I especially love chamber music. The student advisory committee gives me a great opportunity to spread my love of chamber music to high school kids all over the area.

Name: Rebecca Grant
Age: 17
School: Edward R. Murrow High School

Music has always been a passion of mine...its a universal language that I think everyone should understand. I have been playing the violin for 11 years privately and I have also been part of many different orchestras, such as Interschool Orchestra, Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, NYSSMA competitions and school musicals. Although I have other interests besides music, music will always be a huge part of my life.
