Patrons of the Chamber Music Society

Reflecting the intimacy of the art form it supports, the CMS Patron Program offers a truly personal experience for individuals who express their commitment to the Chamber Music Society with annual contributions of $1,500 or more. Musical Evenings in private homes, regular intermission receptions, and backstage gatherings bring CMS Patrons even closer to our music and musicians – and to others from New York’s cultural community who share a passion for the chamber music repertoire. The membership categories and benefits of giving through the Patron Program are detailed below.


Patron Level Memberships and Benefits

Silver Patron

$1,500+ ($1,354 tax-deductible)

SEASON PREVIEW WITH THE ARTISTIC DIRECTORS – Hear Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han reveal their plans for the 2010–11 CMS season at a private event prior to the public announcement. Enjoy cocktails and conversation following this fascinating preview of the programs to come.

POST-CONCERT RECEPTIONS WITH ARTISTS – Mingle with the evening’s artists, CMS Board members, and fellow Patrons at receptions in the Hauser Patron Salon after selected performances.

INTERMISSION RECEPTIONS – Meet fellow Patrons as you enjoy complimentary wine or coffee during intermission in the Hauser Patron Salon at CMS concerts in Alice Tully Hall.

PRIORITY TICKET HANDLING AND SPECIAL TICKET OFFERS – Call the exclusive Patron Phone Line at 212-875-5780 (M-F, 10AM – 5PM) for personalized attention for single ticket requests and exchanges. Occasional special ticket offers will broaden your involvement and provide opportunities to introduce friends to CMS.

COMPLIMENTARY COAT CHECK – Present your Patron Membership card and enjoy the convenience of fast and easy coat check services when you arrive at Alice Tully Hall.

INVITATION TO THE BRANDENBURG HOLIDAY PARTY – Celebrate the season with CMS artists, Board members, and Patrons at our annual holiday reception after the performance of J.S. Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos.

EX LIBRIS – Receive a CD recording and book from the library of Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han, selected at the close of each season, and mailed to your home.

OPEN REHEARSALS – Glimpse behind the scenes at working rehearsals as our artists prepare for performance. Patrons have access to four rehearsals in the Rose Studio, followed by informal receptions with the artists.

RECOGNITION – Receive acknowledgment in the CMS Annual Report and Playbill throughout the season at the Silver Patron level.

Plus, all benefits offered to the Friends of THE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY:

  • Complimentary passes upon request to a Rose Studio Concert, an Inside Chamber Music lecture, and a Meet the Music! concert.
  • Discounted Parking Vouchers for the Lincoln Center Park and Lock Garage.

Gold Patron

$2,500+ ($2,354 tax-deductible)

All Silver Patron benefits plus:

MUSICAL EVENINGS IN PRIVATE HOMES – Receive an invitation to a private home for a performance by CMS artists and a lively buffet reception. These intimate evenings provide the ideal setting for chamber music.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT PLAQUE – Your gift will be recognized at the Gold Patron level on a special donor plaque.

Platinum Patron

$5,000+ ($4,654 tax-deductible)

All Silver and Gold Patron benefits, plus:

PRIVATE DINNER – Get to know CMS Board members, artists, and fellow Platinum Patrons over dinner in the Hauser Patron Salon in conjunction with a CMS performance.

USE OF THE ROSETTE ROOM – Use this private space in the Samuel B. and David Rose Building to host a function for your business associates, clients or friends (to be arranged through CMS staff, subject to availability). Please call 212-875-5780.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT PLAQUE – Your gift will be recognized at the Platinum Patron level on a special donor plaque.

A COACHING SESSION – Work with one of the artists of CMS in a private, professional coaching session – a unique opportunity for amateur musicians (to be arranged for an additional fee through CMS staff). Please call 212-875-5780.

PRIVATE REHEARSALS – Arrange for access to select private rehearsals during the season. Make your request through CMS staff when your favorite artists or repertoire are featured. Please call 212-875-5780.

RECOGNITION – Receive acknowledgment in the CMS Annual Report and Playbill throughout the season at the Platinum Patron level.
