CMS Residencies

Whether continuing a decades-long partnership or launching a new initiative, CMS residencies offer presenters powerful ways to build meaningful, long-term connections with their audiences through chamber music. CMS has an established record of growing audience size and deepening engagement through sustained, thoughtfully planned collaborations.

Each residency is a deeply collaborative effort—an opportunity to work directly with the CMS team to create a rich musical diet tailored to the identity and needs of the local community. Centered first and foremost on world-class performances, residencies may also include pre-concert talks, audience receptions, master classes, school visits, open rehearsals, and other special events.

At the heart of every residency is CMS’s belief that chamber music is one of the most flexible and human art forms, capable of transforming spaces, sparking imagination, and fostering intimate artistic experiences. This art form thrives when shared up close and multiple times, typically through a series of at least three to four concerts, presented as either festival-style intensives or year-round series. These repeated encounters create lasting relationships among CMS artists, presenters, and the communities they serve.
