Clarinetist Pavel Vinnitsky has gained international acclaim through numerous solo, chamber music, and orchestral appearances in the US, Europe, and Asia. An avid orchestral musician, he serves as an acting clarinet section member with the New York Philharmonic and an associate clarinetist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He appeared as a guest clarinetist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the American Symphony, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's and holds the position of principal clarinet with the Stamford Symphony Orchestra. In high demand as a chamber musician, he has been featured in performances at the New York Philharmonic chamber music series, the Met Chamber Players at Carnegie Hall, as well as with the Wind Soloists of New York, the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, the International Contemporary Ensemble, and is on the artist roster of many international chamber music festivals. As an educator, he has conducted master classes at universities and music schools nationwide, including the Juilliard and Yale School of Music. He is on the faculty at NYU Steinhardt and Interlochen Summer Clarinet Institute. Vinnitsky holds bachelor's and master's degrees in clarinet performance from Tel Aviv University and Yale University School of Music, where he studied with the world renowned clarinet master David Shifrin.
