CMS Season at Saratoga Performing Arts Center Off to a "Rousing" Start

Albany’s Times Union music critic heaped praise on the first concert of the three-week CMS season which featured the Danish String Quartet, pianist Juho Pohjonen, and cellist Jakob Koranyi.

“The opener, Beethoven’s Quartet in G major, Op. 18, No. 2, was an ideal vehicle to showcase the Danish Quartet.”

On pianist Juho Pohjonen and cellist Jakob’s Koranyi’s performance of Grieg’s Sonata in A minor, Op. 36, the critic wrote: “Together they make a perfect picture.”

The closing work, Schubert’s Quintet in C Major, Op. 163, “…brought Koranyi into the fold of the Danish Quartet and delivered to the wildly enthusiastic audience a treasure of the chamber music repertoire.”
