In this lecture, composer, radio personality and CMS Resident Lecturer Bruce Adolphe is joined by CMS artists Arnaud Sussmann and Gilles Vonsattel to examine Lili Boulanger's Deux Morceaux for Violin and Piano. Boulanger, the sister of the renowned pedagogue Nadia Boulanger, was a brilliant composer and the first female winner of the prestigious Prix de Rome. Influenced by Fauré and Debussy, she wrote just a few poetic and poignant works before her untimely death at age 24.
