Danish String Quartet
{{ vm.promoDetails.title }}
Due to circumstances beyond our control, this performance has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 30, 2022.
With memories of their stunning Beethoven cycle still fresh in the ear, we welcome the return of the charismatic Danish String Quartet, who bring us a fascinating listening experience that journeys backwards in time, from the 20th century to the Classical age. Britten, who had composed over 100 works by the age of 18, is represented by his three youthful Divertimentos; Mozart’s sublime quartet, one of six he dedicated to Haydn; and Schumann’s third and final quartet reaches new heights of emotional exuberance.
Program
- Mozart Divertimento in F major for String Quartet, K. 138 (1772)
- Britten Three Divertimentos for String Quartet (1933, rev.1936)
- Mozart Quartet in E-flat major for Strings, K. 428 (1783)
