This program highlights chamber music’s brilliance and emotional depth, featuring three masterworks that showcase unique instrumental combinations. Mozart’s Trio in E-flat major, K. 498, “Kegelstatt” delights with its elegant charm and rich interplay between clarinet, viola, and piano, a revolutionary pairing for its time. Brahms’ Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40, composed in memory of his mother, harnesses the warm, golden timbre of the horn alongside violin and piano to create a work of profound lyricism and heroic intensity. The program concludes with Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47, a dazzling blend of soaring melodies, dynamic interplay, and heartfelt Romantic expression.
