Join us for the 7th Annual New York Semi-Final Regional Concert of the 42nd Annual Young Musicians competition, a distinguished CMS tradition celebrating exceptional chamber music performances by students in grades 7–12 from across the tri-state area.

The Semi-Final Regional Concerts showcase outstanding young ensembles who have advanced to the next stage of this competition program and offers a unique opportunity for their communities to experience high-caliber performances by the next generation of chamber musicians. Ensembles that advance further will perform on CMS’s Lincoln Center stages in May.

Whether you are a longtime supporter of classical chamber music or new to the chamber music tradition, this concert provides an engaging and meaningful artistic experience to encourage these young musicians in their early careers.

Admission is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. All are welcome to attend and enjoy these chamber music performances!

FAQs

Do I need a ticket to attend? These concerts are free and open to the public. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I still attend if I do not know anyone performing? Yes! Our Regional Concerts are to celebrate the chamber music art form and the region's dedication to classical music excellence. We welcome all ages who would like to experience these concerts.

Are children welcomeYes. Children are welcome if they are able to sit comfortably in a seat for the duration of the concert. These performances follow a traditional classical concert format, with a quiet audience and dimmed lights. For this reason, we recommend the concert for children ages 10 and up, unless a younger child is able to sit still and remain quiet throughout the performance.

Can I attend the final concert at Lincoln Center? Yes! Our final Young Musicians Concert will take place on May 7 in Alice Tully Hall at 11:00 am. This concert is open to all and tickets can be reserved on our website.

I know an excellent young musician! How can they get involved in this program? This program is open for 7th-12th grade chamber ensembles through their school. Applications open in mid-August and close in late January. All submissions must be made by the students’ school music department. For more eligibility requirements, please visit our Young Musicians Concert page.

Where should I park? Parking is not available on the LaGuardia High School campus. There is a paid parking structure across the street on the Lincoln Center campus. Please enter through the main entrance on Amsterdam Avenue.

I would like to support this program. How do I make a donation? Thank you for considering a gift to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Your generosity is essential to our ability to bring you our education & community engagement programs. Please call (212) 875-5591 or click here to donate.
