Severine Neff is the Eugene Falk Distinguished Professor of Music Emerita at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and has also taught at Barnard College, the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and in Russia, at Moscow State Conservatory. Her four books focus on Schoenberg and Stravinsky, the second being The Musical Idea and the Logic, Technique, and Art of its Presentation by Arnold Schoenberg, in collaboration with Schoenberg’s student Patricia Carpenter. Her next book, Arnold Schoenberg: Counterpoint as Composition, will be published in the nine-volume “Schoenberg in Words” series at Oxford University Press.
