This season, CMS follows the extraordinary creative evolution of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The renowned Schumann Quartet encounters him on March 15, 1770, on tour in Lodi, Italy, finishing his very first string quartet at 7:00 in the evening while waiting for a restaurant to open. The ensemble then time-travels to the turbulent 20th century for classics by Stravinsky and Ives, before settling down in Moscow with Tchaikovsky for a performance of his captivating First Quartet.
