On Tuesday, October 16, the Chamber Music Society celebrated the opening of its 49th anniversary season. The evening included cocktails and dinner for members of the Board, Global Council, and their guests, followed by a concert and reception with the Artists. CMS presented the Award for Extraordinary Service to Chamber Music to Deborah Price, Artistic Director, Chamber Music Connection. The award honors individuals and institutions that have significantly changed the landscape of chamber music through passionate commitment, dedication to the art form, and exceptional vision. Previous recipients include pianist Menahem Pressler (2013), CMS founding director Charles Wadsworth (2014), Marlboro Music (2015), and South Mountain Concerts (2016).
