THE WADSWORTH LEGACY
In its 55th Emerald Anniversary year, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will celebrate the legacy of founding Artistic Director Charles Wadsworth at its acoustically exquisite home, Alice Tully Hall. This elegant evening provides essential support for all of our performances as well as educational initiatives and activities locally, nationally, internationally, and digitally. The evening includes a cocktail reception, a chamber music performance crafted in Wadsworth’s signature style with a cast of extraordinary musicians, and a fun and festive seated dinner with the artists to follow.
ABOUT THE WADSWORTH LEGACY
For over two decades, CMS Founding Artistic Director Charles Wadsworth expanded awareness of chamber music at Lincoln Center and beyond. Wadsworth, along with partners Alice Tully and William Schuman, envisioned an anchor organization at Lincoln Center which would be solely dedicated to the advancement and preservation of chamber music. The foundation laid by Charles Wadsworth allows present-day CMS to retain the core values he established. Now under the leadership of Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han, CMS has grown to include a roster of over 140 musicians performing annually in New York and on tour around the country and across the globe, impactful education and community engagement programs, and extensive digital initiatives and radio broadcasts.
