CMS Wolf Trap Residency
September 1, 2021Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announced the 2021-2022 Chamber Music at The Barns season, curated by pianist and CMS Co-Artistic Director Wu Han, who returns as Artistic Advisor for Chamber Music at the Barns for her fourth consecutive season. Chamber Music at The Barns takes place at Wolf Trap’s historic and intimate 382-seat indoor venue, and runs October through May.
The Chamber Music at the Barns 2021-2022 season will feature four unique CMS performances:
Spanish Inspirations
Includes works by Boccherini, Ravel, Turina, Shostakovich, Cassado, and Sarasate
Chopin
Features pianists Gloria Chien and Michael Stephen Brown with cellist Nick Canellakis and violinist Cho-Liang Lin
String Masterpieces
Includes works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Mozart
The Jazz Effect
Pianists Orion Weiss, Wu Han and the Orion String Quartet exploring the influence of jazz on the classical music canon
