On Tuesday, October 15, the Chamber Music Society celebrated the opening of its 50th anniversary season. The milestone evening included cocktails and dinner for members of the Board, Global Council, major donors, and special guests. Following the concert, the audience enjoyed a reception with the Artists featuring Clos Du Val wine, generously sponsored by Francis Goelet and the Goelet family. A proclamation from The Office of the Mayor of the City of New York was presented to Artistic Directors Wu Han and David Finckel announcing “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Day.” And Clarinetist David Shifrin, who served as the Artistic Director of CMS from 1992-2004, was presented with the CMS Award for Extraordinary Service to Chamber Music for his leadership and dedication to the art of music.
