We are thrilled to announce the 2020-2021 season.

February 19, 2020

The 2020-2021 season theme, Bridging the Ages, refers to a multiplicity of powerful connections that fuel our art and our organization.

Artistic Directors Wu Han and David Finckel noted: “CMS rides into its 51st season on a wave of optimism and exhilaration, propelled by the idealism that has enabled us to rise to the expectations and opportunities that come with our internationally-recognized leadership role in chamber music. As we cross the welcoming bridge to our new era, we proudly continue safeguarding the long-held CMS mission of service to the art through artistic excellence at the highest level.”

Highlights include: Serenades from Mozart to Dvořák, the art of the string quartet from Puccini to Shostakovich, innovators from Debussy to Crumb, and a celebration of the composer who bridged the Classical and Romantic eras, our Winter Festival presents the art of Franz Schubert, one of music's truly timeless geniuses.

As the COVID-19 situation continues to limit our ability to gather safely together, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the first half of our 20/21 Lincoln Center season. Concerts scheduled between October 13 and December 18 will be rescheduled into the 21/22 season along with the spring concerts postponed over the past several months.
