After beginning with Bach, who used six voices to compose his fugue-on-demand for Frederick the Great, the group splits for Classical and Romantic string trios, before re-combining in Strauss’s Sextet from Capriccio and Tchaikovsky’s blockbuster Souvenir de Florence.
