As we near the end of the season, three accomplished CMS musicians will present a unique four-work juxtaposition of seminal trios by Beethoven and Haydn. This is a rare opportunity to witness the evolution of each composer’s trios, just as they did side by side in Vienna, where they shared a cordial yet somewhat competitive relationship.

Join us at 6:45 pm for a Pre-Concert Talk with the artists.

Quick Note

Beethoven employs dramatic contrasts and haunting melodies to create a sense of mystery and depth.

Listen for the ominous and ethereal atmosphere established in the second movement, where Beethoven introduces the ghostly theme that gives the trio its nickname, showcasing his innovative approach to chamber music composition.
